F3. Siena, Monteriggioni & San Gimignano - 9 hour tour
Take a tour of splendid Siena, the medieval hill top villages of San Gimignano and Monteriggioni and end the perfect day riding through Chianti after a glass of wine.
In the heart of Tuscany, on a strategic position on top of a hill,
Siena welcomes you with its medieval character and atmosphere.
Behind its medieval walls are narrow streets, ancient towers and noble
palaces, the magnificent Gothic Cathedral and the great scallop-shaped
piazza del Campo where the famous Palio horse race takes place
every year on July 2nd and on August 16th.
We will stop for lunch at a charming restaurant in Monteriggioni,
an ancient medieval village enclosed by its famous still intact walls.
We will then move on to San Gimignano, one of the most
picturesque and intact mediaeval hill towns in Tuscany with
14 tower houses and enclosed within an outer wall with
five gates. San Gimignano is famous also for the excellent
white wine D.O.C.G "Vernaccia di San Gimignano" which
can also be tasted.
